AWAKE MY SOUL exchanging apathy for passion
Have you longed for something more in your relationship
with Jesus Christ? In this powerful session, Leslie exhorts us to leave
mediocrity and compromise behind; to become fully, wholly, completely Christ's;
to love Him radically - not merely with your words, but with your entire heart,
soul, mind and strength. If you are dissatisfied with just going through the
motions of Christianity and long to become passionately devoted to the true
King, this message can ignite your spiritual fire and change your relationship
with Christ from dull to vibrant.
Do you ever struggle with doubt and disillusionment
toward God? Have you wrestled with questions like "Why would God allow
this to happen?" or "Are God's promises really true?" In this
session, Leslie show us how to plant our feet firmly upon the solid, immovable
Rock, which is Jesus Christ Himself. If you will learn to take Him at His Word,
He is willing to replace your confusion and doubt for the glorious clarity and
confidence you long for. This message will help you exchange feelings-based
Christianity for immovable, rock-solid, faith that cannot be shaken.
LESSONS FROM
THE MISSION FIELD
Sweltering
heat, power outages, no running water, heartbreaking poverty, viruses and
disease, rats, bats, and spiders—it can be easy to fixate with fear on the
challenges that await you in a third world country, but in this session, Annie
passionately shares her own stories of how trusting upon the promises and power
of God brought laughter, joy, rescues, miracles, strength, and a deeper
intimacy with Christ in the midst of trials and hardship. Your faith will be
strengthened as you listen to Annie candidly share about what happened when her
own fears and discomforts met with the promise “Faithful is He who calls you
who also will do it.”
REDEEMING THE TIME exchanging temporal distractions for true satisfaction
How many of our moments are being spent on things that
matter in light of eternity? In this session, Leslie teaches us how to trade
trivial time-wasters for Christ-centered living, and demonstrates that only
when we are willing to give God the best hours of our day-rather than whatever
is left after we have wasted most of our time on temporal, earthly distractions
-will we experience vibrant intimacy with our heavenly King and become the
set-apart women He has called us to be.
GOD’S HEART
FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH with Voice
of the Martyrs
Christian
persecution is making the news headlines, often painting a dark picture. But in
this session Voice of the Martyrs speaker Brooke Parks will show how God is
using suffering and persecution to grow His church worldwide. She will share
powerful testimonies of believers from restricted and hostile nations who have
had overcoming faith in the midst of great persecution. This session will
present an inspiring and challenging message about what it means to count the
cost, take up our cross and follow Jesus, regardless of if we were born into a
restricted or a free nation.
HEROIC FEMININITY exchanging selfish pursuits for sacrificial love
Heroic Femininity - exchanging selfish pursuits for
sacrificial love There are cries of anguish resounding all over the world -
from the starving child to the Christian being tortured for his faith. May we
not drown them out with our movies, social lives, and career pursuits. In this
session, Leslie reminds us that God is asking each of us to turn down the
"noise" in our lives and learn to give the way He gave, holding
nothing back, and shows us what it looks like practically to build a lifestyle
of sacrificial love.
FEMININE
BEAUTY
This
message brushes against some of the most controversial ideas of the Bible, but
surprisingly, as it approaches the socially insensitive and forbidden topic of
the "role of women," instead of creating spiritual indigestion, it
paints a picture of ravishing beauty. Listen to this message at your own risk,
for you may be converted to being a believer that the Bible, the whole Bible,
and every word in the Bible, is good, right, and perfect. And what it produces
in the lives of those that have ears to hear it and obey it, is also good,
right, and perfect.

Daughter of the King Lyrics
It was great seeing you all at Bright Light's Saturday! Here are the lyrics for the song, Daughter of the King. I look forward to singing this with you all next meeting! (The music video is on the sidebar.)
All you ever wanted to be
Was someone the world would see
You dress to impress
You put on your best
And all it left you was empty
But a dress won't make a princess
And jewels won't make a queen
Cause you were made for more than this
You're worth more than what you see
Was someone the world would see
You dress to impress
You put on your best
And all it left you was empty
But a dress won't make a princess
And jewels won't make a queen
Cause you were made for more than this
You're worth more than what you see
...............................................................
You are fearfully and wonderfully
A daughter of the King
You are perfect in the Maker's eyes
Even when you don't believe
His love poured out for who you are
Not who you wanna be
You are fearfully and wonderfully made
A daughter of the King
...............................................................
It's not about the things you can see
The mirror has the world deceived
Just look at your heart to find who you are
Cause image is not in beauty
Cause a dress won't make a princess
And jewels won't make a queen
But you were made for more than this
You're worth more than what you see
(chorus)
And time will fade
Beauty will age
But the good we do lives on
Cause the glass slipper only lasts so long
And time will fade
Beauty will age
But the good we do lives on
Cause the glass slipper only lasts so long

A Heart of Modesty: January 2015
Hurray, we started a new set titled "Daughters of the King"! Our first lesson was on the importance of modesty and we specifically looked at where modesty starts--in the heart.
A Heart of Modesty: Lesson
A Heart of Modesty: Worksheet
Enjoy the snap shots from the meeting! Below are pictures from our "Fashion Show". Each girl dressed up as someone and then the moms had to guess who they were. :) It was a good illustration of how what we wear shows who we are.

We also had a super fun Clothes Swap. I think everyone found a new treasure or two. :)
“Modesty is a lifestyle that encompasses how
one dresses, behaves, and even speaks. Pursuing modesty is really about having
our “outside” not distract from our “inside.” The goal is for our character and
testimony of faith to shine brighter than anything we might put on.”
